Important!
- Before removing the D7039 Mux Expander Module and replaceing the ROM, remove all AC and battery power to the Bosch FPD-7024.
- Failure to follow the instructions in this procedure can damage the FACP.
- The D7039 and FPD-7024 have static sensitive components and must be handled with care. Follow the anti-static procedures when handling these modules.
- Disconnect the power sources to the Bosch FPD-7024
- Carefully remove the D7039 Mux Expander Module by disconnecting it from the FPD-7024 and lifting it off of the standoffs. It is not necessary to disconnect any of the wiring to the D7039 including the ground.
- The ROM is located under the D7039 Mux Expander Module to the left of the display. See picture.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver. Place the end of the screwdriver in the slot at the end of the chip. (I actually perfer to use a chip puller tool)
- Gently pry the chip from the board by lifting it straight up.
- Discard the old ROM chip.
- Place the new ROM version 1.01 over the socket. Ensure that the notched end of the ROM aligns with the notched end of the socket.
- Slowly push straight down on the ROM until all pins are correctly seated. The pins on both sides of the ROM should enter the socket at the same time.
- Reinstall the D7039 by aligning the mounting holes with the standoofs and press the module to seat it securely into the connector on the Bosch FPD-7024.
- Reconnect the AC and battery power to the Bosch FPD-7024.
