Fire Alarm Pull Station Stops Horns with a Key?

Okay here we go again. Just like Lethal Weapon [Blu-ray] this movie, The New Guy, has another fire alarm pull station scene that makes us technicians want to laugh.

During a routine school fight somebody activates the addressable manual fire alarm pull station which summons the entire school to the common corridor. Once the unhappy principal arrives he pushes the white lever on the fire alarm pull station back into the normal position and simply turns off the notification appliance circuits or NAC with his key. WOW!

This could work in a way that the fire alarm control panel was programmed for non latching on this particular pull station device. However, we all know that you cannot push the lever back into position on the fire alarm pull station without opening the face. With that said, the key does not have any control functions, it is there just to open the device. Cool trick but not possible.
