Unlike the Guardian Alert 911 System, the Freedom Alert is much more versatile. With the Freedom Alert System you have options within the automatic settings for whom the system will contact during an emergency.
Let's say you do not necessarily want the emergency services dispatched if you activate the emergency pendant. You can program the base station to call up to four personal contacts of your choice. Pretty nice right? Just in case your friends or relatives are non responsive in the event of an emergency, you can select the next option. With this setting, the Freedom Alert System will attempt to contact your four contacts. If the system is unable to connect with any of them it will automatically contact the emergency services. To sum things up:
Option #1 Contacts the emergency services when the emergency pendant is activated.
Option #2 Contacts your four personal friends, family members, or neighbors.
Option #3 Contacts your four friends and if unsuccessful it contacts the emergency services.
