System Sensor D4120 Amber LED & Cover Tamper Troubleshooting

System Sensor D4120 Dirty Sensor & Drywall Dust Troubleshooting

Drywall dust can cause a System Sensor D4120 duct smoke detector to enter a maintenance condition. This is especially important during building construction when packaged HVAC equipment is operated while drywall joint compound is drying and sanding work is taking place.

The fine airborne dust created during drywall sanding can be drawn through the HVAC system and contaminate the sensing chamber of the System Sensor 2D51 sensor head used with InnovairFlex duct smoke detector equipment.

When this happens, the detector may require cleaning and, if cleaning does not restore normal operation, replacement of the sensor head.
